2024-25 SPx Hockey refreshes the Upper Deck NHL brand with a new format.
Moving away from the one-pack-per-box product of 2023-24 and earlier, Hobby boxes yield eight packs with three cards each.
According to the details from UD, these boxes no longer average an autograph, with the expected output being a mix of parallels and inserts.
There was also no mention of UD Black, a frequent accessory in recent iterations of SPx.
2024-25 SPx Hockey Checklist Rundown
While rare autographs are in play, the 2024-25 SPx Hockey checklist leans more on the inserts with an assortment of styles available.
Expected signers include Cale Makar, Matt Rempe and Wayne Gretzky.
2024-25 SPx Hockey Base & Parallel Details
Unlike 2023-24 SPx, which saw base print runs of 299 copies, 2024-25 SPx Hockey makes the base cards more accessible with one per pack from the 100-card lineup.
Occupying the final 50 cards in the set (#101-150), the Base Rookie cards fall in every other pack.
The parallels should combine to offer three Silver cards and one Gold card per box.

2024-25 SPx Hockey Insert Details
Showcasing the typical SPx style, 2024-25, SPx Hockey supplies fans with a tech-heavy lineup of inserts.
Each box also has four cards from the PETG/Simulated Hologram grouping. This includes Bound For Glory (1:8 packs), Excellence Redefined (1:20 packs), Holoview F/X Rookies (1:7 packs), Holoview F/X Vets (1:10 packs) and SPx Game Film (1:14 packs).
Finite Vets (/999) and Finite Rookies (/999), plus parallels (/599 or less), should provide another two cards per box.
Those chasing the tougher pulls have All-Time Holoview (1:40 packs), SPxCellence (1:100 packs), SPx Force (1:160 packs) and SPx Force Rookies (1:267 packs). Rookie Holograms (1:86 packs) is a new dual-image set for young talent.
Digging into UD's past, Salute (1:800 packs) makes its SPx debut with a new look.
In addition, Holo’d Hardware (1:267 packs) is also new.

Autographs keep the hits rolling in 2024-25 SPx Hockey, including serial-numbered Base Rookie Autos.
Find top NHL names among the Finite Rookies Silver Autos (/99) and Finite Vets Silver Autos (#'d) cards.
Limited versions arrive in Holographs (1:240 packs), Rookie Superscripts (1:120 packs), Star Focus Signatures (1:270 packs) and Superscripts (1:160 packs.)
The signed choices continue with All-Time Holoview Autos (/10), Holo’d Hardware Auto (#'d), SPxCellence Autos (#'d), SPx Force Autos (#'d) and SPx Force Rookies Autos (/99).
Finally, SPx nostalgia is on full display with 1996-97 SPx Buyback Autos (/15).
