The 2024 Topps Chrome Lids Baseball series continues the collaboration between Topps, Lids and Mitchell & Ness to offer an exclusive run of MLB cards.
One big difference this year is the all-new Lids X Topps Player Chase Series 1 box format that features three exclusive hats and one pack of the Chrome Lids cards. Total production is 4,000 boxes at $250 per box. Just like the cards, the hats are a mystery until the box is opened.
While these boxes first arrived at Fanatics Fest (August 16), the official release date for Lids locations and online at Lids HD is August 23.
In addition, purchases from the Topps x Mitchell & Ness Collection come with a 2024 Topps Chrome Lids pack, as supplies last, including Topps-branded hats ($54.99), hoodies ($100) and t-shirts ($50).
2024 Topps Chrome Lids Baseball Set Details
Despite the new ways to obtain the cards, the 2024 Topps Chrome Lids Baseball checklist is similar to past years.
Covering current stars and top rookies, the 50-card base set is split between seven designs across just as many decades.
Limited Refractor parallels and autographs add to the chase.
2024 Lids x Topps Player Chase Series 1 Details
With the 2024 Lids x Topps Player Chase Series 1 boxes, the hats supply another collectible element as three arrive in each box.
These hats are also exclusives, including six versions geared to various MLB legends, such as Cal Ripken Jr., Derek Jeter, Ken Griffey Jr. and Mickey Mantle.
Each hat type has a limited quantity per player, all the way down to one-of-one hats. Some of the hats are even signed by the player.
Every box also contains one scratch-off ticket that can yield various prizes.
